About Harbor Light Restaurant

The Harbor Light was established in 1950 and was originally called Duke's Drive-in (with the then popular car-hops on roller skates). Ten years down the line the restaurant was bought by new owners and it became the Skylark Cafe.

At the time, Reedsport was a flourishing logging town with many saw mills, a paper mill, and fish processing plants. At nearby Winchester Bay, Salmon Harbor was known as the center of commercial and sport fishing on the Oregon Coast bringing many visitors and much prosperity to the local economy.

The Serang family has owned the Harbor Light for the past 40 years. During this time, Chef/Owner Lauree Serang has been steadily upgrading the food, the look and the feel of the restaurant to accommodate the tastes of the locals and the many people who visit the Oregon Coast. The Harbor Light is now fast becoming a destination point for people from all over the country who wish to enjoy a good meal in a warm friendly place.

Our Food: We always use the freshest ingredients available, supporting local fish markets and farmers. This includes fresh Salmon, Halibut, Ling Cod, Red Snapper, Albacore Tuna (that Chef/Owner Lauree often buys off the dock), to local Oysters and fresh local berries for desserts.

Our dishes are simple allowing the foods full flavor to shine through. We take pride in using our family recipes and we are committed to making the most flavorful meals from scratch. Our highlights include fresh local seafood,  clam chowder, salad dressings, sauces and desserts. Harbor Light is also known for our fresh smoked, chicken and meats  that we smoke on site. We serve hand dipped fish and chips that are light and delicious,  as well as onion rings that will keep you coming back for more. We serve Oregon Wines and Oregon Micro brews to add that extra Oregon touch. A meal at the Harbor Light is one you will always remember and a value that will surprise you.

Chef/Owner Lauree was introduced to cooking when she was eight years old by Master Chef Baba Milkovich (her Yugoslavian grandmother). With Lauree's natural gift for cooking, her friendly and welcoming nature and her smart business sense, she has made the Harbor Light restaurant a popular destination for locals and visitors alike.
